Jimmy Mooney serves on the Board of Trustees of Willingway Hospital. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Willingway Hospital in 1996. The middle son of Willingway's founders Dr. John and Dot Mooney, Jimmy has held many positions at the hospital. Jimmy served as Director of Willingway from 1993-1996, Administrator from 1991-1993, and from 1990-1991 he served as the Co-Administrator of Finance. He also served as data processing manager and accounts payable manager for the hospital. Jimmy is a member of the Statesboro Rotary Club and Pittman Park United Methodist Church. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Robert W. Mooney, M.D., the third son of Dr. John and Dot Mooney, serves as Medical Director of Willingway Hospital following his appointment in 1995 upon completion of Residence Training at East Tennessee State University in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Mooney provides Addiction Medicine and Psychiatric services to alcohol and drug addicted patients at this privately owned 40-bed specialty hospital. Prior to completion of his formal medical education, Dr. Mooney served as Associate Director of Willingway from 1983-1987. In addition to Addiction Medicine, Dr. Mooney helped develop and is the primary psychiatrist for the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT Team). From 1996 to present he has provided intensive psychiatric services to chronically mentally ill patients in the community. He has been continuously certified as an Addiction Counselor since 1986 and currently is certified as a Master Addictions Counselor by the NAADAC. He also holds certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is a Diplomat to the American Psychotherapy Association. In 1988 he was chosen for the Outstanding Young Men in America award and in 1995 and 1996 received the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Active Teacher Award for his role in residency training in Addiction Medicine. In 1999 Dr. Mooney presented a keynote address on Adolescent Addiction Treatment at the 4th Annual New Zealand/Australia Conference on Addiction Disorders. As a life-long resident of his community, he is active in local efforts to expand the prevention, recognition and treatment of addiction disorders. Dr. Mooney is dedicated to the principle that anyone suffering from alcoholism or drug addiction should be given an opportunity to recover with respect and dignity. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
He is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Board of Addiction Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Southern Medical Association. Barbara S. Reid came to Willingway Hospital in September of 1995 with over 20 years of financial experience. Barbara was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Willingway in June 2004, after serving in other areas of Finance within the hospital. Barbara came to Statesboro from Augusta, Georgia, where she owned a tax and accounting firm as well as other joint business ventures. Barbara and her husband Bobby enjoy camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with their family. Barbara is of the Baptist faith and is active in a local church. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
Kathryn S. York was named the Director of Nursing at Willingway Hospital in 1999. She has twenty-two (22) years of experience as a Registered Nurse including ten years of experience in the Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Behavioral fields. Eight years of her experience was as the Emergency Department Supervisor and Emergency Medical Service Coordinator. Other areas of experience include Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Infection Control including HIV Education, Counseling and Testing, Long Term Care with Long Term OBRA Instructor Certification. She brings to the organization approximately 20 years of experience in nursing management in these past positions: Emergency Department Supervisor, Emergency Service Coordinator (EMS Services), Staff Nurse, Lead Nurse, and Nurse Manager in Behavioral Health Setting and Director of Quality Assurance/Risk Management. Tracie joined the Willingway staff as a Recreation Therapy Coordinator in 1987. In March of 2002 she was named Clinical Director. She has served as Safety Officer for the hospital on a continuing basis since 1990. Tracie received Willingway’s ‘Employee of the Year’ award in 1993. Tracie and her husband, Alex Smith, have a son, Xander. In her off hours she likes to read, play golf, travel (especially to Disney World!), watch movies, play with her two dogs and cats, and spend time with family and friends. Raymond began his working career at Willingway as a Substance Abuse Counselor and was recipient of the Employee of the Year award in 1998. His responsibilities at that time included individual counseling, group counseling and assessments. His supervisor at the time stated, "Raymond places the welfare of the patients first and foremost; he gives 100% to his job and always has a smile. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award than Raymond." Raymond has said that the award gave him a sense of accomplishment. "I am grateful for my award," he said. "It is a sign that my life has come full circle." Raymond’s life has been one of ups and downs. Addiction lead him down a path of destruction and recovery delivered him to a place of serenity. In 1993 he began work as an Intern Counselor at Bulloch Substance Abuse, and has since become a Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a Certified Addiction Counselor II. Along with working full-time in his position as Inpatient Program Manager at Willingway, Raymond also works in the community coordinating alcohol and drug education programs for companies and their employees, families and churches. His main goal is to reeducate people about the stereotypes and myths about alcohol and drug addicts. He has been an active member of the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association since 1994. Raymond is currently enrolled at Georgia Southern University working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in health. Raymond and his wife, Geraldine, enjoy making time for regular family activities with their four children. They are involved members of the First African Baptist Church.
Autumn Altamirano began working at Willingway in 2002, and has been counseling since 2004. She is the Extended Care Program Manager, in charge of the Willingway Women's Residence extended care treatment program. Autumn is an active member of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors and the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association.
