The Benefits of a Drug Addiction or Alcoholism Intervention
Interventions have been played out on reality shows and reenacted in television dramas, but the real thing can have significant value for not only the person needing alcoholism or drug addiction treatment, but also for the family involved. The primary goal of an intervention is to assist the family in getting the alcoholic or addict into treatment. Other benefits include helping educate the addict's family about the addictive process prior to treatment and pulling the family together as a unit as it moves toward the recovery process.
Our experience has shown that in most cases an intervention will not only succeed in getting a person into an alcoholism or drug addiction treatment center, but it will also add to the probability of a successful treatment outcome.
